Just Where Did That Scent Go…

He sprayed it on that morning.

New scent.

Important meeting — and he wanted to smell the part.

A couple on the neck and across his chest.

One on the wrist.

It smelled good.

Warm. sophisticated. Feeling just right.

By mid-morning, he noticed something.

Or rather…

He didn’t.

The scent was gone.

At least, that’s what it felt like.

He leaned in closer.

Nothing.

He rubbed his wrist.

Still nothing.

By lunchtime, he’d already decided:

“This stuff doesn’t last.”

Later that afternoon, one of the ladies in his office came to his desk to chat about a project.

She paused.

“That smells really good… what are you wearing?”

That’s the moment most people find confusing.

Because to them…

It had disappeared hours ago.

But it hadn’t.

There’s something interesting happening here.

Your brain is incredibly efficient.

When it encounters a smell consistently, it starts to filter it out.

Not because it’s gone.

But because it’s no longer new.

It’s called adaptation.

Your senses prioritise change.

Not constancy.

So the scent you applied in the morning…

The one you think faded…

Is often still there.

Just no longer visible to you.

Which is why someone else can notice it long after you’ve stopped.

This is where a lot of doubt creeps in.

People assume:

  • It’s too weak
  • It doesn’t last
  • It’s not working

But mostly…

It’s doing exactly what it should.

Fragrance isn’t always something you experience continuously.

Sometimes it’s something others experience.

Sometimes it’s something that comes back in moments.

A small movement.

A shift in air.

A passing breeze.

And sometimes…

It’s simply working quietly in the background.

That’s another reason why exploration matters.

Different scents behave differently.

Some stay close.

Some project.

Some come and go.

The goal isn’t to constantly smell your fragrance.

The goal is to find something that works — even when you’re not aware of it.

If You’re Curious to Explore That

One of the easiest ways to understand this is to wear a few different scents across the week.

Something fresh.

Something warmer.

Something with a little more presence.

Notice how each one behaves.

Not just how it smells in the first five minutes…

But how it shows up over time.

Right now you can choose:

  • Any 3 × 10ml fragrances for R200
  • Or 5 × 10ml for R300
  • Or any 5 × 2ml samples for just R100

It’s a simple way to experience those differences for yourself.

No pressure. Just curiosity.

You didn’t lose the scent.

You just stopped noticing it.

Until next time
