This last weekend was Halloween, my kids had a plan to go to a party somewhere on the other side of town, which for us as the transport service provider looked like the other side of the earth. Thankfully that plan fell through and they decided that they would rather have a Halloween movie night sleepover at home.
So we unpacked the projector, set up the screen, downloaded some suitable Halloween movies and inflated the camping mattresses we have for just these occasions.
Tracy and the girls then set about decorating the house so it was suitably Halloween themed.
The guests arrived all looking very ghoulish with I thought quite realistic looking axe wounds, eyes hanging out and other gory looking makeup. Apart from one Trump look alike, although to some he is the perfect scary Halloween character 😁.
All the kids received a party pack with various sweets, snacks and a couple of 10ml travel size perfumes. I am always interested to see what the reactions will be. I was not disappointed.
Within 5 minutes, there was much spraying and delightful squealing. It just goes to show everyone loves a good scent.
It was amazing to see how any pre-party shyness disappeared as soon as they all got to trying the different scents. There was much discussion around which was who’s favourite scent and who had found the best combinations. It was a real conversation starter that set the party off on the right footing from the get go.
For obvious reasons, we always give perfumes and home scents as our offerings, whether it’s as hostess gifts when we are invited to someone’s house, as birthday gifts for friends and family or in party packs when our kids have friends over.
What I can say is perfumes and scents are always well received and have a higher perceived value in the receiver’s mind than what you will spend on them.
Home mists make perfect teacher’s gifts, and for secret Santa parties, at R150 each it’s worth having a few in the cupboard just in case. Our diffusers are really good value at R250, buy three for only R225 each or 5 for a mere R200 each. If you want something more substantial, give a diffuser and room mist combo, get them together for just R375 per set.
For R200 you can get a selection of 3 x 10ml perfumes, that’s a perfect Christmas gift at a very affordable price. 5 x 2ml curiosity size are a give away at R100, perfect for stocking fillers.
This festive season, give gifts that last and make people happy, they will be forever grateful.
If you have a fun, sad, interesting, amusing story you would like to share with us and it’s chosen for the newsletter you’ll win R150 worth of reward points you can use whenever you like.
We launched our Collections offering a couple of weeks ago. One of the challenges in choosing or experimenting with new scents is the overwhelming choice of fragrances available. With our Collections we have put together 5 fragrances for you to try that have some common connection.
This week, we are going to look at our Citrus collections. We have a collection for Women and one for Men.
As you can see there are 5 scents in each collection. The idea is for you to be able to try 5 scents that are all very different, but having the common theme of all being from the Citrus scent family. These collections will give you a good overview of the different styles of fragrance that you will find in the Citrus scent families for both men and women.

Fragrance layering is a fantastic way to get the best out of your scent collection, every week will highlight fragrance layering combinations that we love and have had good feedback on.
6010 Be Delicious Men plus 6002 Terre D’Hermes
This is one of my favourite combinations. I have always loved the fruitiness of 6010, but always thought the dry down lacked some punch and it doesn’t have great longevity. 6002 is one of the quintessential woody fragrances with slight pepperiness on opening followed by a depth of cedar. It’s the best of both worlds, the fruitiness of the apple that settles to a wonderful woody base that lasts fantastically. You’ll love it.
1001 Armani Si plus 3070 Ariana Grande Mod Vanilla
This was the favourite combination that came from Friday’s Halloween bash. It also happens to be one of my daughter’s favourite combo’s. Might be some bias there, but no matter it makes for a great scent.
1001 is a classic feminine floral scent with just the right amount of floral sweetness. For some people however it might come across as a bit thin as it settles. The top notes are wonderful, fresh, fruity and vibrant with a subtle sweetness. The 3070 adds a bold, creamy vanilla element that really plumps up the scent up without overpowering it.
We would love to hear what your favourite layering combos are. Every week we are going to be featuring different combinations. Send us yours and if we chose it for the feature, you’ll win a selection of 5 x 2mls of your choice.
Our fragrance bundles make for phenomenal value.
